Abolition is Shadow Work
When we talk about abolition as divestment from white supremacist delusion, are we also talking about the ways we manipulate each other to gain and weld power based on how distant or proximal our identities are to whiteness?
When we investigate how a society that centers a false logic of white superiority creates deep wounds around our worthiness, we are making conscious our unconscious desire to gain power over those who we perceive to have more power than us and to have control over those we perceive to have less power than us.
Is freedom living in a world where we are in control or is freedom healing from a logic that renders us powerless?
